Digit@l 82-86mm StepUp Ring

Digit@l 82-86mm StepUp Ring | Use a larger filter on a smaller thread

It can be frustrating to have a filter you want to use, but a lens thread that’s smaller than the filter’s fitting. The Digit@l step-up ring is made for that mismatch: it bridges an 82mm thread to an 86mm filter size. That makes it relevant when you already have a larger filter and want to use it on a lens with the smaller thread size. The useful point is its direction: it steps up, rather than down. This is a simple size-matching accessory, not a filter in its own right. Its value depends on those two diameters matching the lens and filter you intend to pair. If they do, it provides a direct way to join the different sizes.

When a step-up ring helps

A step-up ring is for adapting between a smaller thread and a larger filter fitting. In practice, the key is to match the ring’s smaller side to the lens thread and its larger side to the filter. This model’s designation gives you those two sizes, so you can judge whether it suits the specific combination you have in mind. It won’t change the size of either the lens thread or the filter; it simply bridges the difference between them. That’s the honest limit of what this kind of ring does, and also why the sizing matters more than extra features. If the diameters are right, it solves a narrow, everyday fit problem without needing a different filter in that size.
