Formatt Hitech FC 58mm Superslim Stackable Cir.pol.
Formatt Hitech FC 58mm Superslim Stackable Cir.pol. | Control reflections and stack filters
Without a polarizer, reflections on water or glass can remain prominent, and a bright sky may look less defined than you’d like. The Formatt Hitech FC 58mm Superslim Stackable Cir.pol. is a circular polarizing filter for photographers who want more control over those effects while composing. Turn the filter and watch the view change: reflections can be reduced, and skies can gain more depth, depending on the light and your angle to the scene. It’s particularly useful for landscapes, water scenes and photographs through shop windows, where unwanted glare can obscure detail. The 58mm size is for a lens that accepts a 58mm filter. Its superslim, stackable design also suits photographers who want to combine filters. Polarization is angle-dependent, so you’ll get the best result by judging the effect as you compose rather than expecting the same change in every scene.
Specialist Note
Does the FC 58mm Superslim Stackable Cir.pol. work for a filter stack? Yes, stacking is part of its design. Its slim profile is relevant when you’re combining filters, though adding filters can still make a setup bulkier. The 58mm size means you’ll need a lens with a matching filter fitting. For a stream or a shop window, turn the polarizer while looking through the viewfinder or at the screen; stop when the distracting reflections ease and the scene behind them reads more clearly. It also gives you a way to deepen a blue sky when the shooting angle suits. I’d choose it for deliberate control, not as a filter to leave on for every subject.
