Fujifilm LH-XF23 II Rectangle Lens Hood Black Metal
Fujifilm LH-XF23 II Rectangle Lens Hood Black Metal | Helps cut stray light
Bright light coming in from outside your frame can lower contrast and add unwanted flare. The Fujifilm LH-XF23 II is a rectangular hood for the XF23 lens, designed to help keep that stray light off the front of the lens. It’s a practical addition for outdoor photography, especially when the sun is off to one side rather than directly in the frame. The hood is made of metal and finished in black, giving it a solid, simple look that suits a Fujifilm lens setup. It can also provide a little physical cover for the lens front during everyday use. If you prefer a clean rectangular shape over a round hood, this version keeps that look while serving a clear purpose: controlling stray light as you compose.
For more controlled outdoor framing
Fit the hood when you’re working in changeable light, then adjust your position so the sun sits just outside the composition. That’s where a hood can be particularly helpful; it won’t remove flare from a light source that’s actually in the frame. Its shape also gives the lens a more defined front profile, while the black finish keeps the appearance understated.
Specialist Note
For a street scene with the XF23, I’d fit this hood before heading out and keep the sun just beyond the edge of the frame. The 23 in the XF23 name makes it a natural match for a wide, everyday viewpoint; at 1/250 sec, you can work briskly with passing people while the hood helps limit stray light from the side. I also like that it’s metal: it feels like a considered, purpose-built accessory rather than a flimsy add-on. It suits photographers who use their XF23 outdoors and want a little more control over light. One limit: it can’t prevent flare when a bright source is in the picture.
