It suits NEX owners who store a body and lens separately, pack them apart, or want the appropriate cap ready when removing a lens. The pairing covers both sides of that setup: the body cap goes on the camera, and the rear cap goes on the detached lens. It’s a straightforward storage accessory, not a lens or a camera upgrade. When you take a lens off, fit each cap to the part it covers before putting the pieces away. If your lens stays on the camera and your kit is stored assembled, you may have little use for the pair; its purpose is keeping the separated ends covered.
