GREEN.L ES-62II Lens Hood For EF 50mm f/1.8 II
GREEN.L ES-62II Lens Hood For EF 50mm f/1.8 II | Helps screen stray light
A bright light just outside your frame can send unwanted flare towards the lens. The GREEN.L ES-62II is a lens hood made for the EF 50mm f/1.8 II, giving that lens a simple way to shield against some stray light. It suits photographers using this specific lens who want an uncomplicated accessory for everyday portraits, indoor scenes or outdoor pictures in changeable light. A hood can help preserve contrast when light arrives from the side, though it won’t remove flare from a light source that’s actually in the frame. The name identifies both the hood and the lens it’s intended for, so this is a focused pairing rather than a general-purpose accessory. If the EF 50mm f/1.8 II is already part of your kit, the ES-62II is worth considering when stray light is a concern.
Specialist Note
The projecting front rim is the useful physical detail here: it puts a little shade ahead of the EF 50mm f/1.8 II, which can help when a lamp or bright window sits just outside your composition. For a portrait, try the lens at f/1.8 when you want a shallow depth of field, and keep the light source off to one side rather than in the frame; the hood can help with stray light, but it can’t remove flare from a direct light source in the picture. The 50mm focal length suits portraits and everyday details, and this hood is specifically intended for that lens. It’s a straightforward match if you use that exact EF lens; it isn’t a general hood for other lenses.
