Hahnemühle DFA FineArt Baryta 325GSM 61cmx12m

Hahnemühle DFA FineArt Baryta 325GSM 61cmx12m | Fine-art paper for longer print runs

When you’re choosing paper for a fine-art print, the paper name and format matter as much as the image file. Hahnemühle DFA FineArt Baryta is a 325 GSM paper in a 61 cm by 12 m format, for photographers and printmakers planning their own output. Its named FineArt Baryta stock makes it a considered option for fine-art work; the title gives you the weight and dimensions to judge whether it suits your project. The long format is useful when you want to plan prints along a roll rather than buy a single sheet at a time. One honest point: the title alone can’t tell you how a particular image will look on the paper, so use the format and paper name as your starting point, not as a promise about the final print.

Choosing the format

At 61 cm wide and 12 m long, this gives you a substantial length of paper to plan around. Think first about the print dimensions you need, then how many prints you expect to make from that length. The width is the key limit when you’re laying out an image; the 12 m length gives you room to plan a sequence of prints within that width. Your final yield will depend on the dimensions you choose and how you arrange the work, so it’s worth sketching out the job before you start printing.

The 325 GSM figure gives you a clear reference for the paper’s stated weight, while FineArt Baryta identifies the paper type. Those details help narrow a paper choice without pretending that one stock suits every image. If you’re preparing a body of work, keeping the paper and print dimensions consistent can make planning simpler. For a single image, start with its intended size and check that the 61 cm width works for your layout. This is a format-led choice: a good fit when the named paper and roll dimensions line up with the prints you actually want to make.
