Hahnemühle DFA Photo Rag 308GSM 91.4cmx12m

Hahnemühle DFA Photo Rag 308GSM 91.4cmx12m | Photo paper for wide prints

When you’re planning a photograph at a wide size, a roll gives you room to work beyond a single sheet. The Hahnemühle DFA Photo Rag is photo paper in a 91.4cm-wide, 12m-long roll, with a stated weight of 308 GSM. That makes it a practical format for photographers and printmakers producing larger images or several prints from one roll. The name identifies it as Photo Rag, and the weight is a clear point of reference when you’re choosing paper for a print job. The useful thing here is the combination of a broad roll and a defined length: you can plan around the size of the image rather than a pre-cut sheet. If your work is mostly small prints, this roll may simply be more paper than you need. For wider output, the format is the reason to consider it.

Planning around the roll

A roll is worth considering when your print dimensions call for paper wider than a sheet you’d normally handle, or when you need more than one print from the same supply. Its 91.4cm width gives you a broad working area, while the 12m length provides a continuous roll to plan from. How many prints you’ll get depends on the dimensions of each print and how you arrange them along the roll, so it’s best to work that out from your intended output rather than assume a fixed yield. The 308 GSM figure is another concrete detail to weigh in your choice: it tells you the paper’s stated weight per square metre. Together, the title’s format and weight help you decide if this roll suits the size and scale of the work you have in mind.
