Hama Polarizing Filter Circular Ar Coated 49.0mm 725 Serie
Hama Polarizing Filter Circular Ar Coated 49.0mm 725 Serie | Reduce glare and deepen skies
Without a polarizing filter, reflections and a pale sky can take attention away from your subject. This Hama circular polarizing filter lets you control some of that reflected light: rotate it while looking through the camera to reduce glare from surfaces such as water or glass, or to deepen a blue sky against the clouds. It can also bring out richer-looking colour in foliage. The effect depends on the light and your angle to the subject, so a small turn can make a visible difference. It suits photographers who want more control over reflections in landscapes, architecture or everyday scenes, without relying on editing to create the effect afterwards. The 49.0 mm size is intended for lenses with a matching filter thread. It’s a practical option when reflections are getting in the way of the picture you want.
Specialist Note
Does the Hama 725 come in the size I need, and what does the AR coating do? It’s a 49.0 mm filter, so it suits a lens with a matching filter thread; that’s the first thing I’d match before choosing one. The AR coating is intended to limit reflections at the filter surface, which is helpful when you’re using the filter to manage glare in the scene. For a shop window, rotate it while watching the reflection until it’s reduced; for a landscape, turn it to judge the sky’s contrast. I’d recommend it to someone who wants hands-on control, with the honest caveat that the effect varies with the light angle.
