Hawke Sunshade Standard Objective 60mm
Hawke Sunshade Standard Objective 60mm | Helps manage stray light
In bright, side-lit conditions, a sunshade can help keep stray light from reaching the objective, so the view is less affected by unwanted glare. This Hawke accessory is for anyone using a standard 60mm objective who wants a simple way to manage light around the front of their optical equipment. It’s most useful outdoors when the sun is off to one side of your viewing direction, rather than directly behind you. A sunshade won’t change the optics or remove every reflection, but limiting oblique light can make viewing more comfortable and help keep contrast from being washed out. If glare is a regular annoyance in your daytime observations, this is a purpose-specific accessory to consider. The key is matching its stated 60mm objective designation to the equipment you use; the product name gives you that clear starting point.
Specialist Note
The Hawke Sunshade Standard Objective 60mm is made to help shield a 60mm objective from unwanted light. The 60mm designation gives you a clear point to match against your objective, rather than guessing from a general accessory description. “Standard” is also part of the version name, so I’d keep the full wording handy when identifying this particular Hawke item. It suits observers who spend time outdoors in daylight, especially when light is coming from the side. Use it in those conditions to reduce stray light at the objective; it’s a focused solution for glare, not a change to the optics themselves.
