HOLLYLAND 2 Cold Shoe-Mounts Accessory
HOLLYLAND 2 Cold Shoe-Mounts Accessory | Extra support for handheld video
Without a shoulder rig, you’re supporting the camera on its own while filming handheld. The HOLLYLAND 2 Cold Shoe-Mounts Accessory is a shoulder rig for video makers who want extra support during handheld work. It’s particularly suited to filming when you need to keep the camera with you rather than set it down between shots. The two cold-shoe mounts also give you places to position compatible accessories on the rig, keeping them close while you work. This is a straightforward piece of support equipment, not a promise of locked-off footage or a substitute for a tripod. It makes most sense when handheld shooting is part of the job and you’d like the camera supported at your shoulder. Consider it for interviews, short pieces to camera or other video where you’re holding the camera for the shot. If your filming is always stationary, a shoulder rig may not be the support you need.
Specialist Note
This isn’t a way to make handheld footage completely still, so I’d look elsewhere if that’s your main aim. Its value is the shoulder-rig support, with two cold-shoe mounts built into the product name for a practical reason: you have two positions for compatible accessories rather than just one. For a seated interview, bring the rig to your shoulder and settle into a steady stance before recording; for a short piece to camera, it gives you support while you stay mobile. I’d point a video maker towards it when handheld work is frequent and having those two accessory positions matters. It’s a focused rig, rather than a general-purpose camera support.
