Ilford FineArt Canvas Galicia 450GSM 64" 162.6cmx15m 1ROLL

Ilford FineArt Canvas Galicia 450GSM 64" 162.6cmx15m 1ROLL | A wide canvas roll for fine-art printing

Ilford FineArt Canvas Galicia comes in a 450gsm roll measuring 64 inches wide, for photographers and printmakers producing fine-art work in a wide format. It’s a specialist canvas option in the Printers & Scanners range, suited to people planning prints from a roll rather than choosing individual sheets. The 15-metre length gives you a substantial run of material to plan jobs around, while the stated width makes it useful to consider for larger print layouts. The product name identifies the canvas as Galicia; beyond that, there’s no need to guess at its surface or finish. If you’re comparing media, the practical details to weigh up here are the canvas format, its weight and the roll dimensions. Those are the figures that will shape how you plan a print job.

Planning around a roll

Roll media changes the way you think about a print run: instead of selecting a pack of fixed-size sheets, you plan each job around material supplied continuously on a roll. That can suit printmakers working on pieces with varied lengths, or anyone who prefers to organise output from a single roll. The listed dimensions give you a clear starting point for deciding how the material fits your intended work. Allow for your own layout and handling needs when planning; the width stated in the title is the roll width, and isn’t a promise about the final printable area of every setup. The 450gsm figure is also useful when comparing this canvas with other media by weight. It’s a straightforward product to assess if the key requirement is a wide roll of fine-art canvas, rather than a particular finish or surface characteristic.
