Ilford MGFB5K Classic 12.7x17.8cm 100V.

Ilford MGFB5K Classic 12.7x17.8cm 100V | A specific format for planned prints

The defining choice is the 12.7 × 17.8 cm format: it gives this Ilford photo paper a clearly stated print size. That suits photographers who already know the dimensions they want to work with, or who are choosing paper to match a planned print. MGFB5K Classic is the product name, and 100V is part of its designation, so keep the full title handy when comparing or reordering. The supplier lists the colour as black. The practical reason to choose this listing is straightforward: you want this named Ilford paper in this particular format. If size and product identity are guiding your search, the title gives you concrete details to compare against your needs. It’s a specific paper choice rather than a broad recommendation for every printing situation.

When you’re narrowing down photo paper, start with the dimensions you want your print to have. This listing makes that choice clear, which is useful when you’re comparing products by format instead of relying on a general description. Keep the full product name with your notes, too: “Classic” alone doesn’t identify the complete item. The model designation and dimensions belong together, giving you a more precise reference when you return to your shortlist.

My straightforward advice is to choose it for the exact format and product name, not for assumptions based on the lettering. The title identifies an Ilford MGFB5K Classic product and includes the 100V designation; it doesn’t need extra interpretation to be useful as a buying reference. If those identifiers match what you’re looking for, this is the listing to compare with your intended print dimensions. That’s the useful point here: a clearly named product with a specific size, so you can make your selection on those terms.
