K&F Concept 100x150 GND16 Soft Gradient (X-PRO Series)
K&F Concept 100x150 GND16 Soft Gradient (X-PRO Series) | Balance bright skies and darker land
Keep a bright sky from overwhelming the land beneath it, while retaining both in the same frame. The K&F Concept 100x150 GND16 Soft Gradient (X-PRO Series) is a graduated neutral-density filter for photographers dealing with a difference in brightness across a scene. Its soft gradient gives you a gradual transition between the darker and clearer parts of the filter, which can make the change less obvious across a horizon. The GND16 designation identifies the filter’s graduated density, helping you manage the brighter part of a composition without darkening the entire view in the same way. It suits landscape photography in places where the sky is much brighter than the ground, such as a coastline or open countryside. The 100x150 format gives you room to position the gradient where the scene needs it. This is a focused tool for balancing light in-camera; it won’t solve every uneven-light situation, but it can help keep a bright sky and a darker foreground together in one composition.
Specialist Note
This filter helps balance a bright sky and darker land without making you darken the whole scene to protect the highlights. I’d consider it for a shoreline at sunrise or a landscape with a bright sky above a darker ridge. The soft gradient is useful when the boundary isn’t a perfectly straight, hard line: position its transition around the horizon and adjust it to suit the shape of the land. Its 100x150 format gives you space to place that transition precisely within the composition. The GND16 designation makes this a purposeful option for a pronounced brightness difference. It suits landscape photographers; if bright areas are scattered across the frame rather than concentrated toward one edge, a graduated filter may be less helpful.
