Kase Revolution Infared 720 82 mm
Kase Revolution Infrared 720 82 mm | Explore infrared photography
The Kase Revolution Infrared 720 is made for photographers who want to explore infrared images rather than simply protect a lens. It suits landscape and creative photographers interested in a distinctive way of rendering familiar scenes. With a camera able to record infrared, leafy areas can appear pale while skies take on stronger contrast, giving trees, fields and parks a very different feel from a conventional photograph. The 720 designation points to the filter’s infrared use; the result depends on the camera’s response to infrared light, so it isn’t a look the filter can create on its own with every camera. Its 82 mm size is relevant when choosing a filter for a lens with a matching filter thread. If infrared photography is new to you, expect some experimentation with exposure and processing as you find the rendering you prefer. This filter is best approached as a creative tool for deliberate infrared work, not as an everyday UV filter.
Specialist Note
720 is the number to keep in mind: this is an infrared filter, intended to shape the light recorded for an infrared image, not a general-purpose lens protector. I’d consider it for deliberate landscape work—try a scene with leafy trees and open sky, then adjust exposure and processing to bring out the pale foliage and stronger sky contrast. The 82 mm size means it’s intended for a lens with an 82 mm filter thread, so that measurement matters when planning your setup. One honest point: the filter alone can’t make every camera record infrared; the camera’s infrared sensitivity is part of the equation. It suits photographers who enjoy a bit of experimentation and want a clearly different rendering of outdoor scenes.
