Kondor Blue KB-CANON-BR Canon R5 Arca Base Rig MkII R5/R6/R Space Grey
Kondor Blue KB-CANON-BR Canon R5 Arca Base Rig MkII R5/R6/R Space Grey | A tripod-ready base for Canon R rigs
The defining detail here is the Arca base: this Kondor Blue accessory gives a Canon R5/R6/R rig a base intended for tripod use. It suits photographers and filmmakers building their camera setup around one of these named Canon bodies and who want the rig itself to be part of their tripod workflow. The MkII designation and the specific R5/R6/R naming make this a purpose-focused piece of kit, rather than a general-purpose tripod accessory. That focus is its strongest reason to consider it: the product is made for a particular camera-rig setup, with the tripod connection built into its identity. Use it when you want to work from a fixed camera position, such as framing a talking-head video or holding a composition for a still-life scene. It’s a rig accessory, not a tripod, so you’ll still need a tripod to support the setup.
Specialist Note
R5 is part of the product name for a reason: this is aimed at a Canon R5/R6/R rig, so I’d consider it when that’s the camera setup you’re building around. The Arca base makes tripod placement the key part of the design; for a locked-off interview, build your rig first, then use that base to position it on your tripod before setting your framing. The MkII name identifies this as the second-generation version, while Space Grey gives it a restrained finish alongside your camera equipment. I’d steer you toward it for tripod-based video or composed stills, rather than as a standalone support solution. You’ll need a tripod separately.
