Kondor Blue KB-SONY-BC Sony E Mount Cine Cap Metal Body Cap For Camera Lens Port
Kondor Blue KB-SONY-BC Sony E Mount Cine Cap Metal Body Cap For Camera Lens Port | Covers an open Sony E-mount lens port
After removing a lens, the camera’s lens port is left open until you fit another one. The Kondor Blue KB-SONY-BC is a metal body cap made to cover that port on a Sony E-mount camera. It’s a straightforward accessory for camera owners who store or transport a body without a lens attached, or who want a cap ready between lens changes. The cine-cap design gives it a place in a cine camera kit, while its role stays simple: cover the camera’s lens port when it’s not in use. If you’re organising a kit around Sony E-mount equipment, this is a purpose-made cap for that opening rather than a makeshift way of covering it. It’s best suited to keeping an uncoupled camera body covered; it doesn’t replace a lens or change how the camera operates.
At a glance
- Mount: Sony E mount
- Construction: Metal body cap
- Type: Cine cap for a camera lens port
When it earns a place in your kit
Keep the cap with the camera body for the stretches when no lens is attached: between setups, while packing the body, or during storage. That gives the lens port a dedicated cover instead of leaving it open. It’s a small, specific piece of kit, useful when your setup calls for a Sony E-mount body without a lens fitted.
Specialist Note
A metal body cap gives an open Sony E-mount lens port a proper cover instead of leaving it exposed between lens changes. I’d keep this one with a camera body that’s often stored without a lens, or use it while packing down a cine setup. The Sony E-mount designation makes its intended fit clear, and the metal construction means it’s a solid physical cover for that opening. For one body with one uncovered lens port, fit the cap whenever the lens comes off and leave it in place until you’re ready to mount a lens again. Its job is focused: covering the port, not replacing a fitted lens.
