LaCie 5big DAS Pro 40TB Thunderbolt 3.5inch Silver

LaCie 5big DAS Pro 40TB Thunderbolt 3.5inch Silver | 40TB for your working files

Your photo library has room to grow with 40TB of external storage in the LaCie 5big DAS Pro. It’s aimed at photographers and other creatives who keep large collections of files close to their desk and want a dedicated place for them. The product name specifies Thunderbolt connectivity and a 3.5-inch format, giving you useful details to consider when planning where it will sit in your setup. Its silver finish keeps the look understated. For a working archive, the main appeal is straightforward: a substantial stated capacity in one named storage product, rather than another small drive to keep track of. I’d think first about how you’ll organise the files you put on it; a clear folder system makes a large library much easier to browse later. This is a storage purchase, so the value is in having space ready for your growing collection.

For a growing photo archive

Keeping image files in one place can make it simpler to manage a busy archive, especially when projects accumulate over time. The 40TB capacity gives you a clear number to plan around, while the Thunderbolt connection is a key part of the product’s identity. If you’re weighing up storage for a desk-based workflow, consider the amount of material you expect to keep together and how you prefer to sort it. The honest point is that capacity alone doesn’t organise your files for you; naming folders and maintaining a sensible structure still matter. The 5big DAS Pro is best considered as a dedicated external storage option for that kind of file collection, with its stated capacity and connection type at the centre of the decision.
