LaCie d2 3TB Thunderbolt2 & USB3.0 3.5inch Dual Thunderbolt

LaCie d2 3TB Thunderbolt2 & USB3.0 3.5inch Dual Thunderbolt | Keep your photo archive close at hand

Keep a 3TB store of files on your desk, ready to connect when you need it. The LaCie d2 is an external hard drive for photographers and other creators who want a dedicated place for image folders, project files or an archive that’s grown beyond a laptop’s internal storage. Its 3.5-inch format makes it a desktop drive rather than a pocket-sized carry-around option. For a working day, that means you can keep a sizeable collection together in one place instead of splitting it across smaller drives. The d2 offers Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3.0 connections, with dual Thunderbolt. That gives you a choice of connection to plan around when setting up your storage. It’s a straightforward proposition: substantial capacity in an external HDD, with two named interface options. If your priority is a portable drive to take everywhere, the 3.5-inch format is worth considering before you choose.

Choosing how to connect

The connection options are a practical part of this model’s appeal. You can consider the LaCie d2 in relation to the connection you intend to use: Thunderbolt 2 or USB 3.0. The title also specifies dual Thunderbolt, so Thunderbolt is more than a single named connection on this drive. That’s useful context when you’re comparing it with an external HDD for a desk-based storage setup. There’s no need to treat the name as a promise of a particular transfer rate or of compatibility with a specific computer; those details aren’t part of the information available here. Instead, start with the amount of storage you want and the connection that suits your setup. The 3TB capacity is the concrete number to weigh against your library, while the two interface types give you options to consider.
