LG 32MR50C-B.aeuq - 32-inch curved Full HD screen with 100 Hz refresh
The LG 32MR50C-B.aeuq pairs a wide 31.5-inch curved screen with a 100 Hz refresh rate, so there’s plenty of room for work, films and responsive gaming. Its 1500R curve wraps the display gently around your field of view, while Full HD resolution keeps the image at 1920 × 1080. It’s a strong fit for anyone who wants a large desktop monitor for mixed use rather than a screen dedicated to one task. Spread spreadsheets, documents and browser windows across the 16:9 display, or settle in for a film on its VA panel, whose 3000:1 typical contrast ratio gives dark scenes depth. For gaming, AMD FreeSync coordinates the monitor’s refresh with a compatible graphics output to reduce tearing, and 100 Hz refreshes the picture more often than a standard 60 Hz screen. The curved format also makes a broad screen feel more enveloping during play or video viewing. This is a Full HD monitor, not a high-resolution workstation display, but its blend of screen size, curvature and refresh rate makes it a versatile centrepiece for a home desk.
Why it is useful
- 1500R curvature: The pronounced curve follows the broad screen’s shape, keeping the edges oriented towards you. It brings a more surrounding feel to games and films.
- VA display: VA technology and a typical 3000:1 contrast ratio give dark and bright parts of an image clear separation. That’s useful for films and games with shadowy scenes.
- 100 Hz refresh rate: The screen updates more frequently than a 60 Hz display, so movement looks smoother in supported games and other fast-moving content.
- AMD FreeSync: FreeSync reduces tearing during fast gameplay by synchronising the display with a compatible graphics output. It’s a welcome addition for action games.
- Reading and flicker features: Reading Mode adjusts colour temperature and brightness for reading, while Flicker Safe reduces screen flicker. Both give you options for longer sessions at the desk.
- OnScreen Control and screen splitting: Adjust monitor settings with the OnScreen Control software, and divide the display into sections for organising windows. It’s handy when you’re working across several documents or apps.
Specialist Note
First-time buyers of a large monitor sometimes expect every inch to look as finely detailed as a smaller screen; this model’s generous curved area is better understood as a comfortable workspace and entertainment screen. The 5 ms response time (GtG, in Faster mode) is a useful figure for play, and I’d pair it with the 100 Hz refresh for quick-moving games. For darker game scenes, try Dark Tone Stabilizer: it lifts visibility in shadowed areas, so details are easier to pick out. The 178-degree viewing angles also mean the picture remains viewable when you’re sitting off-centre or sharing the screen with someone beside you. I’d recommend it for a home desk used for work and gaming, with one clear trade-off: Full HD across 31.5 inches won’t look as finely detailed as a higher-resolution monitor.
Good to know
Allow for a substantial desktop footprint: with the stand attached, the monitor measures 70.87 × 51.31 × 23.37 cm (W × H × D) and weighs 6.2 kg. Without the stand, its depth is 9.14 cm and its weight is 5.1 kg. Those measurements are useful when planning a desk layout or considering a stand-free setup.
