Meike MK-25mm f/0.95 Canon RF-Mount | A bright prime for street and travel
Street scenes and travel interiors can get frustrating when fading light pushes you to raise ISO or miss a moment. The Meike MK-25mm f/0.95 is an interchangeable prime for Canon RF cameras, with a 25mm focal length and a maximum aperture of f/0.95. That wide aperture gives you room to work in available light and can help separate a subject from its surroundings when you focus carefully and shoot wide open. The 25mm view suits scenes where you want a person and some of the place around them in frame, rather than distant details. It’s a considered option for street photography and travel, especially if you like composing from within a scene. This is a fixed-focal-length lens, so changing your framing means moving your position. If that way of working suits you, it gives you a bright, direct view without a zoom.
Specialist Note
A 25mm prime won’t bring distant street details closer, so I wouldn’t choose it for subjects across a square. Its appeal is the f/0.95 maximum aperture: in a dim café or on an evening street, opening it fully lets more light reach the sensor while you choose a shutter speed for moving people. For a passer-by, try around 1/250s as a starting point, then adjust ISO to suit the light. The 25mm view keeps useful surroundings in the frame, too, which suits travel scenes where the place matters as much as the person. I’d recommend it to someone happy to move nearer or reframe on foot.
