Nedis CAT6-CABLE RJ45 Male RJ45 Male S/FTP 1.00m Round LSZH Yellow Label

Nedis CAT6-CABLE RJ45 Male RJ45 Male S/FTP 1.00m Round LSZH Yellow Label | A short, direct link between RJ45 sockets

Without a short cable, a connection between nearby RJ45 sockets can end up relying on a longer lead with spare length to manage. This Nedis CAT6 cable is one metre long, with a male RJ45 connector at each end. It suits a setup where the two connection points are close and you want a cable of a defined length rather than a coil of excess cable. The cable is round and has an S/FTP construction, with an LSZH designation. Its yellow label may also help when you’re identifying a particular cable in a group. This is a straightforward option for making a short RJ45 connection; the main thing to get right is whether one metre reaches between your intended connection points. There’s no need to buy more length than your layout calls for.

Choosing the right length

Before settling on a one-metre cable, consider the route it will take, not just the distance between the two sockets. A lead that has to go around an obstacle or follow the edge of a desk needs a little more reach than a straight line between connection points. On the other hand, choosing a much longer cable for a short run leaves extra length to arrange. That’s the practical trade-off here: decide where the cable will run, then judge whether this length suits that path. The RJ45 male connectors are specified at both ends, so the cable is intended to connect to sockets that accept that connector type. The exact equipment you’ll connect depends on the ports in your setup.
