Nedis CAT6-CABLE RJ45 Male RJ45 Male U/UTP 0.50m Round PVC Grey Label

Nedis CAT6-CABLE RJ45 Male RJ45 Male U/UTP 0.50m Round PVC Grey Label | A short wired link for nearby equipment

Without a short lead, a nearby network connection can end up using more cable than the setup needs. This Nedis CAT6 cable is half a metre long, with a male RJ45 connector at each end, for linking equipment with matching RJ45 sockets when the sockets are close together. It suits a desk or compact equipment area where you want a direct wired connection without a long loop of cable to tuck away. The cable is round, grey and covered in PVC; its U/UTP designation is part of the cable specification. Its real advantage is its modest reach: it’s meant for a short connection, not for spanning a room. If the two sockets are further apart than its length allows, you’ll need a longer cable instead. For nearby connections, though, this is a straightforward option with the connector type and cable category clearly identified.

A short cable for a close connection

With only a short run between the two ends, there’s less spare cable to manage around neighbouring equipment. That can make a small setup feel tidier, particularly when the devices already sit close together. There’s no special setup to describe here: the cable’s role is simply to make a wired link between matching RJ45 connections. The main thing to consider is the placement of the sockets. Measure the route the cable needs to take, rather than relying only on the straight-line distance between devices; a cable that’s too short won’t reach comfortably.

CAT6 identifies the cable category, while RJ45 male connectors at both ends describe the connection provided. Those details make it easier to distinguish this lead from cables with a different connector arrangement. The grey colour may also help you identify it among other leads in a shared setup. One practical limitation is worth keeping in mind: a short cable gives you little slack for moving equipment around later. If the arrangement changes often, allow for that before choosing a cable this compact.
