Permajet Portfolio Rag 220 Roll 17INCHES 15m

Permajet Portfolio Rag 220 Roll 17INCHES 15m | Photo paper in a practical roll format

Loose sheets are the usual way to buy photo paper, but a roll gives you a different format to work with. The Permajet Portfolio Rag 220 is a photo paper roll measuring 17 inches wide and 15 metres long. It suits photographers and printmakers who specifically need paper in a roll, rather than a pack of separate sheets. The product name also includes “Portfolio Rag 220”; I’ve kept that wording as supplied rather than guessing what the number refers to. Its clear appeal is the combination of a stated width and a substantial roll length, so you can plan around the dimensions when choosing paper for a print workflow. If those measurements match what you need, the format is straightforward. If you’re comparing papers by surface or weight, the title alone doesn’t give enough detail to make that comparison.

Choosing the roll format

The 17-inch width is the key measurement to consider first, while the 15-metre length tells you how much paper is supplied on the roll. That makes this a considered purchase for a workflow already set up to use roll paper, rather than an interchangeable substitute for any sheet pack. The name “Portfolio Rag” identifies the paper range, but the available product information doesn’t describe its finish or other print characteristics, so I wouldn’t choose it on those assumptions. In practical terms, make your decision around the format and the exact product name: Permajet Portfolio Rag 220, 17 inches wide, in a 15-metre roll. It’s a specific paper format, not a general description of every roll you might use.
