Permajet Smooth Rag 310GSM 36INCHES 15m

Permajet Smooth Rag 310GSM 36INCHES 15m | A wide roll for photo prints

Instead of working from individual sheets, this Permajet Smooth Rag paper comes in a wide, long roll, giving you room to plan prints around your own image sizes. It’s photo paper for people who want to choose their print dimensions rather than be limited to a pre-cut sheet. The title identifies it as Smooth Rag, with a weight of 310gsm, a width of 36 inches and a length of 15 metres. Those figures are the practical starting point when deciding if the roll suits your print plans: consider the width you need, then how much paper your work will use. It’s most relevant when you’re producing photo prints and want a roll format. The honest point is that paper names alone can’t tell you how a particular image will look; if surface appearance matters, judge a sample before committing to a print run.

Choosing a roll format

A roll can make sense when your print sizes vary or when you want to decide the cut length yourself. Think through the largest print width you expect to make, and allow for the paper needed to handle and trim each print. The 15-metre length also gives you a clear quantity to plan against: estimate the paper required per job before starting, especially if you’re preparing several images. Smooth Rag is the product’s surface name, so it’s worth considering whether that named finish suits the look you want from your photographs. Keep your intended print size and paper use in mind when comparing this roll with other photo paper formats. That’s a more dependable way to choose than relying on the product name alone.
