PolarPro Arctic CP - 82mm Threaded - Benjamin Hardman

PolarPro Arctic CP - 82mm Threaded - Benjamin Hardman - 45% light transmission

The PolarPro Arctic CP - 82mm Threaded - Benjamin Hardman passes 45% of incoming light, around half a stop more than a traditional polarising filter. That higher transmission follows photographer Benjamin Hardman’s need to retain as much light as possible in the dim conditions of the Arctic. It’s a polariser for landscape and wildlife photographers working in challenging light, with an 82mm threaded mount for a lens with a matching filter thread. Use it when photographing glaciers and icebergs, where the filter’s polarising effect brings added contrast and clarity, or when working with Arctic wildlife and trying to retain detail in low light. Its Chroma Polarization Technology is intended to keep colours accurate, so pale ice and snow retain natural-looking tones. A slim frame also works with most lens hoods, keeping the filter compatible with a hooded setup. This version brings Hardman’s cold-environment brief to a standard threaded filter.

In the field

• Chroma Polarization Technology: PolarPro’s colour-focused technology is intended to avoid a colour shift. That matters when you want ice, snow and sky to keep their natural hues.
• 110° adjustment: A short turn covers the full polarisation range. PolarPro describes the adjustment as five times faster than traditional designs.
• Glove-friendly grip: The enlarged gripping surface gives gloved fingers more purchase on the filter ring. You can make adjustments while wearing gloves in cold conditions.
• Slim frame: The low-profile frame is compatible with most lens hoods. Keep a hood mounted while working outdoors without the filter getting in its way.
• Greenland field testing: Benjamin Hardman tested the Arctic CP during a sailing journey through Greenland’s ice fields. Its development is rooted in demanding, cold-weather photography.
