PolarPro Chroma VND/PL 2-5 - Gold Mist - 95mm - Fine Threaded - McKinnon Series
PolarPro Chroma VND/PL 2-5 - Gold Mist - 95mm - Fine Threaded - McKinnon Series | Shape exposure and image character
PolarPro Chroma VND/PL 2-5 - Gold Mist - 95mm - Fine Threaded - McKinnon Series combines a variable neutral-density filter with a polarizer, offering a 2–5-stop adjustment range. It’s made for photographers and filmmakers who want to control exposure and reflections while adding the Gold Mist look. The variable density gives you room to adjust light reduction without changing filters, while the polarizing function is useful for managing reflections and glare in a scene. The Gold Mist designation makes it a creative option for portraits, beauty work and scenes where you want a softer, warmer character than a straightforward exposure filter provides. Its 95mm fine-threaded format is intended for a matching filter thread, so it’s worth checking the front-thread size of the lens you plan to use. This is a specialist combination filter: its appeal is having several effects in one piece, rather than a neutral, no-effect finish.
Specialist Note
Videographers filming people in bright daylight are the kind of shooters I’d point toward this filter. Its 2–5-stop variable range gives you some exposure adjustment while keeping your chosen shutter setting, which is handy when light changes during a take; it won’t cover situations that need more than five stops of reduction. The polarizing function also helps when reflections distract from a face or scene. I’d use the Gold Mist character for portraits or close-up beauty shots when a softer, warmer look is part of the brief. The 95mm fine-threaded size is a practical detail, but it does mean the lens needs a matching 95mm thread. It suits controlled, deliberate work more than someone seeking a completely neutral filter.
