PolarPro Portra True Colour PL + White Mist 1/4 - Helix Maglock
PolarPro Portra True Colour PL + White Mist 1/4 - Helix Maglock | Reflections controlled, highlights softened
For scenes with distracting reflections and highlights that could use a gentler look, the PolarPro Portra True Colour PL + White Mist 1/4 - Helix Maglock combines a PL polarizing effect with White Mist diffusion at 1/4 strength. It suits photographers and filmmakers who want both treatments in the same image, rather than reaching for a polarizer alone: think reflective windows or foliage in a portrait scene, with highlights softened and contrast eased. The “True Colour” name describes the colour character the filter is intended to deliver. The 1/4 marking identifies the White Mist grade, giving you a specific diffusion strength to consider when choosing your look. Use the polarizing effect when reflections are part of the problem, then judge how the mist treatment affects skin, point highlights and bright backgrounds. The Helix Maglock designation identifies the filter system this version is made for.
Specialist Note
The “PL + White Mist 1/4” lettering puts the combination right in view: you’re choosing reflection control and a defined diffusion grade together. I’d suggest it for portrait or lifestyle work where reflections in glass or leaves are distracting, but you also want to take the edge off bright highlights. The 1/4 strength makes the mist treatment a considered part of the look, so it may not suit a scene where you want everything to stay crisp and neutral. The PL effect depends on the scene and your angle; don’t expect it to remove every reflection. And the Helix Maglock name matters here: this is the version for that named filter system, not a universal fit.
