Radius 12cm Nimbus Windshield (19/22) Black Fur
Radius 12cm Nimbus Windshield (19/22) Black Fur | Helps shield your microphone from wind
Radius 12cm Nimbus Windshield (19/22) Black Fur is the Nimbus windshield in the 19/22 sizing, for recording with a microphone that calls for that fit. It’s made for people who take a microphone outside or work in places where moving air can interfere with a recording. The fur-covered design helps shield the microphone from wind, making it relevant for spoken-word recordings, interviews and location sound. It’s a focused accessory: its job is to provide a layer of wind protection, rather than change how you record or what microphone you use. If you’re choosing a cover for a particular mic, the sizing is the key detail to match. For outdoor dialogue, it can help keep wind from becoming the most noticeable sound in a take, though strong gusts can still be a challenge.
For a simple setup, fit the windshield to the microphone and listen to a short test recording before you begin. That gives you a chance to catch wind noise early and adjust your position or find a more sheltered spot. It’s a practical step for interviews and location recordings where a clean spoken track matters. The windshield is there to help with wind at the microphone; it won’t remove other sounds from a recording, so a quieter position still makes a difference.
Specialist Note
A breeze crosses the canal just as an interview is getting under way; that’s the sort of moment when a windshield earns its place. The 12 cm size is a useful cue when you’re planning how the cover will sit around your microphone, while the black fur keeps its appearance visually subdued in a shot. I’d choose this Radius when your microphone calls for the 19/22 sizing, then make a quick test recording before the conversation starts. It suits outdoor dialogue and location sound where wind is a concern. One honest limit: it can help with wind, but it can’t make a microphone immune to strong gusts.
