Revar Cine 162mm Unmounted Circular Polarizer
Revar Cine 162mm Unmounted Circular Polarizer | Manage reflections in cine setups
A reflection across a window or a bright sheen on water can pull attention away from the scene; a polarizer helps you control that glare. The Revar Cine 162mm Unmounted Circular Polarizer is a circular polarizing filter for cine use, with an unmounted design and a 162mm size. It suits camera crews and imaging technicians working with setups built to accept an unmounted filter of this format. A polarizer is most useful when reflections are part of the problem: adjusting its angle can reduce glare on non-metallic surfaces, while also changing how a blue sky renders. That makes it a considered tool for glass-fronted locations, reflective surfaces and outdoor scenes where you want more control over the image. The result depends on the light and viewing angle, so it’s best treated as an adjustable effect rather than a fixed correction.
Specialist Note
Glare that hides detail in glass or water is the problem this filter is meant to address. I’d point it out to cine crews who need to manage reflections deliberately, rather than accept them as part of the shot. The 162mm size means your setup needs to be designed for that filter format; it’s a cinema-oriented piece, not a small screw-in filter. Because it’s unmounted, plan to use a suitable filter holder, then adjust the filter angle while watching the reflection change. That’s useful for controlling a bright window in a scene or reducing surface glare outdoors. One limit: a polarizer won’t remove every reflection, and its effect depends on the shooting angle.
