Rycote 12cm SGM Foam (19/22) (10 Pack)
Rycote 12cm SGM Foam (19/22) (10 Pack) | Keep microphone foam ready for use
Keeping a shotgun microphone’s foam covering ready helps make spoken audio easier to record, with less light air movement and breath noise reaching the mic. The Rycote 12cm SGM Foam (19/22) comes as a ten-pack, giving audio crews and regular recordists spares for ongoing work. It’s a straightforward replacement foam for people who need this specific size and want a few ready to hand, rather than relying on a single covering. The 12cm format suits setups that call for this length, while the 19/22 designation gives you a size reference when choosing foam for a microphone. Use it for speech recording, interviews or other work where a microphone is close to the speaker. It’s a practical piece of kit to keep with your audio accessories, particularly if a worn or misplaced foam would interrupt a planned recording.

Specialist Note
A missing or tired foam covering can leave you without a simple way to soften breath noise and light air movement at the microphone. I’d consider this Rycote pack if you record dialogue regularly and want replacements ready instead of having to stop and source one. The 19/22 designation is the detail to match when choosing; take care to check that reference against the microphone you’re covering. At 12cm, it’s a defined length rather than a universal sleeve, so it suits setups that call for that format. A ten-pack makes sense for a shared audio kit or repeat recording work. It’s black, too, so it keeps a low profile on the mic.
Choosing the right size
Use the 19/22 marking as your starting point when selecting this foam, and compare it with the size reference for your microphone. The 12cm length is another part of the product designation to keep in mind. If those details match what your setup calls for, the ten-pack gives you spares to keep with your recording gear.
