Rycote 3/8" Boom Adaptor Swivel w/ Cam Clamp/Hot Shoe ADAP.
Rycote 3/8" Boom Adaptor Swivel w/ Cam Clamp/Hot Shoe ADAP. | Adjust your boom’s angle
A boom-mounted microphone is easier to position when its adaptor can swivel, and this Rycote gives you that adjustment in a compact mounting part. It’s intended for audio setups built around a 3/8-inch boom connection, with a Cam Clamp/Hot Shoe Adaptor named as part of the product. That makes it relevant to video makers and sound recordists who need to position a microphone from a boom rather than leave it fixed in one direction. Use the swivel to set the angle that suits the placement, then keep the microphone aimed where you need it. This is a specific piece of mounting hardware, not a microphone or a boom, so it makes most sense when those parts are already part of your setup. Its appeal is straightforward: a 3/8-inch boom connection and a swivel, with the clamp/hot-shoe adaptor arrangement for mounting.
Specialist Note
The Rycote 3/8" Boom Adaptor Swivel is for getting a boom-mounted microphone pointed at the right angle. The 3/8-inch connection gives you a clear size to match against the boom in your setup; the swivel is what lets you adjust the microphone’s direction instead of relying on a fixed angle. I’d consider it for dialogue recording when a boom needs to sit off to one side, or for a compact video rig where the named hot-shoe adaptor arrangement is useful. Set the boom in place, then use the swivel to aim the microphone toward the sound source. It’s a focused adaptor rather than a complete recording setup, so you’ll still need the boom and microphone separately.
