Rycote 45/100 Windjammer For Foam
Rycote 45/100 Windjammer For Foam | Helps tame wind noise on foam
Rycote 45/100 Windjammer For Foam is a windjammer made to fit over a foam microphone cover. It’s for anyone recording speech or sound where moving air can spoil a take with wind noise. Used over the foam, it adds a wind-protection layer while keeping the setup centred on the microphone’s existing foam cover. That makes it a focused accessory for location recording, interviews and other situations where you want to reduce wind hitting the mic without changing the rest of your recording setup. The name’s 45/100 designation identifies this particular version, so keep the full name to hand when matching it to the item you need. Its colour is black. A windjammer can help with wind noise, but it can’t make a microphone immune to strong gusts; careful positioning still matters.
Specialist Note
Putting this windjammer over a foam cover gives you a straightforward extra layer when wind starts to be a concern; there’s no need to replace the foam as your starting point. The “For Foam” wording is the key detail: this is intended to work as a cover over foam, so it suits recording setups already using that kind of microphone protection. I’d consider it for an outdoor interview or a location recording where air movement is reaching the mic, then position the microphone out of the strongest gusts for a cleaner result. The 45/100 designation helps identify this exact version when you’re choosing the named Rycote accessory. It can reduce wind noise, but it won’t cancel the effect of very strong wind.
