Rycote White Overcovers: 30 X Stickies & 6 White Fur Discs
Rycote White Overcovers: 30 X Stickies & 6 White Fur Discs | Discreet microphone covering
Rycote White Overcovers come with 30 stickies and six white fur discs, giving you the pieces to cover a microphone discreetly for recording. They suit sound recordists, interview crews and anyone placing a microphone close to a subject while keeping the setup unobtrusive. The stickies provide the fixing points; a fur disc goes over the microphone as an overcover. That makes this set relevant when a visible microphone would distract from the shot, or when you want a covering between the mic and the surrounding environment. The useful distinction is the quantity: there are many stickies compared with the six fur discs, so you can prepare several fixing points without assuming you have a fur disc for each one. It’s a compact, purpose-specific accessory set rather than a general microphone kit.
Specialist Note
In a quiet interview room, the microphone needs to stay close to the speaker without drawing the eye; this is where the white fur discs earn their place. I’d use a sticky to secure the microphone position, then place a disc over it as an unobtrusive overcover. With 30 stickies in the set, you have plenty of fixing pieces for setting up more than one position or making adjustments. The six fur discs are the limiting part, so plan around those if you’re preparing several microphones. This suits discreet interview and dialogue setups where a visible mic is distracting. It’s a focused set of covers and stickies, not a complete microphone package.
