Shimoda Core Unit - Soft - Medium - Boa (520-481)

Shimoda Core Unit - Soft - Medium - Boa (520-481) | A padded home for your ready-to-shoot camera

The fully padded soft construction is the defining choice of the Shimoda Core Unit Soft Medium Boa (520-481): it cushions a compact camera kit while keeping the unit enclosed inside a larger bag. As a holster-style top-loader, it’s made to keep one camera with a lens attached ready to shoot, rather than burying that setup among other equipment. The medium size suits compact camera gear, including the kind of kit used for vlogging and action sports. Use it to keep your camera close at hand in a larger backpack, carry a compact setup on its own, or organise a small collection of camera accessories for a shoot. Adjustable dividers let you arrange the main compartment around your equipment, while the beige Boa finish gives the soft case a quieter, distinctive look. It’s a focused piece of kit: a protective, organised place for the camera you reach for first.

Access and protection

• Fully enclosed padding: Padding covers the sides, base and zippered lid. That all-round cushioning is useful when the Core Unit sits inside a larger bag and might shift as you move.
• Adjustable dividers: Arrange the main compartment around your camera and attached lens, then reposition the dividers as your compact setup changes.
• YKK zipper: The lid closes with a YKK zip, keeping the compartment shut while you carry the unit or take it out of a backpack.
• Two clear TPU pockets: The transparent pockets keep small items such as batteries or a lens-cleaning pen visible, so they’re easier to locate than loose accessories in the main compartment.
• AirTag pocket: A dedicated pocket accommodates an AirTag. Add your own tracker if you want a way to help locate the Core Unit.
• Soft inner lining: The brushed lining is intended to protect camera equipment from scratches as it goes in and out of the case.

What fits inside

The unit is intended for compact camera equipment, with adjustable dividers to separate and support the items you pack. Shimoda names Leica, Fujifilm, OM System, GoPro, DJI and Sony crop-sensor gear among the kinds of equipment it can accommodate. Its internal measurements are 24 × 16 × 8.5 cm, so the actual fit depends on the size and shape of your camera and lens. The clear pockets are better suited to small accessories than bulky items.
