Sirui Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6X Carbon FullFrame Anamorphic Z Mount Neutral Flare
Sirui Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6X Carbon FullFrame Anamorphic Z Mount Neutral Flare | Wide cinematic framing for Nikon Z
On a dialogue scene where you want a wider, more cinematic frame without stepping far back, this Sirui Saturn 35mm earns its place. It’s an interchangeable anamorphic lens for Nikon Z cameras with full-frame sensors, designed for video and filmmaking. The 35mm focal length gives you room to include a subject’s surroundings, while the 63° angle of view suits composed shots in interiors and on sets. Its maximum aperture is T2.9, and focusing is manual, so it’s made for considered focus pulls rather than quick autofocus changes. The 1.6x anamorphic squeeze gives filmmakers a distinctive widescreen workflow, and the Neutral Flare version is for those who want this particular flare character in their image. It’s a specialist cinema lens for filmmakers shaping a shot, not a general-purpose stills lens.

- Full-frame format
Working with the anamorphic image
The 1.6x squeeze records a horizontally compressed image, which needs to be desqueezed for normal viewing. Build that step into your monitoring or editing workflow so you can judge the intended widescreen composition while framing. It’s a useful creative tool, but it does ask for more deliberate setup than a standard spherical lens.
Specialist Note
The carbon construction gives this lens a purposeful cinema feel, and the 1.6x squeeze is the detail that shapes how you plan a shot. I’d look at it for dialogue coverage or a carefully composed interior, where the wider anamorphic presentation can make the setting part of the scene. At T2.9, you have a practical working aperture for controlled, lower-light setups; I’d still plan your lighting rather than expect the lens to solve a very dark location on its own. Manual focus suits a crew member pulling focus between a foreground mark and an actor, but it asks for care. This is a considered filmmaking lens, not the quick option for casual run-and-gun footage.
