SmallRig 5235 Rotating Side Handle For Canon/Blackmagic Design Cameras
SmallRig 5235 Rotating Side Handle For Canon/Blackmagic Design Cameras | Extra support for handheld video
During handheld video work, a camera can feel harder to support as you keep framing and operating it. The SmallRig 5235 Rotating Side Handle is a shoulder rig accessory for Canon and Blackmagic Design cameras, intended to give you extra support while shooting handheld. Its rotating side handle gives you another place to hold the rig, helping you keep a more supported grip as you work through a shot. It suits videographers who want added hand support for interviews, event coverage or other handheld filming, and who prefer a rig-based setup. Think of it as a handling aid: it gives you a more supported way to hold the camera, rather than changing what the camera can record. If your work involves handheld video and you want an additional grip point, this is the role this SmallRig handle is designed to fill.
Specialist Note
The rotating handle is the detail to pay attention to: it lets you alter the position of your grip around the rig, which can make it easier to find a hold that suits the way you’re framing. I’d consider it for handheld interview footage or short moving shots, where a steadier-feeling hold helps you concentrate on keeping the composition consistent. It’s a shoulder rig for Canon and Blackmagic Design cameras, so it makes sense if your video setup already uses one of those systems. Just keep its job in mind: it adds support for handheld operation; it doesn’t replace the care needed to hold a camera steadily.
