SmallRig 5277 67mm w/ Detachable Sunhoods For 4299B Universal Phone Cage
SmallRig 5277 67mm w/ Detachable Sunhoods For 4299B Universal Phone Cage | Add shade to your phone rig
Bright surroundings can make a phone-filming setup harder to manage, especially when you want a more controlled front end without changing the cage you already use. The SmallRig 5277 is a 67mm accessory made for the 4299B Universal Phone Cage, with detachable sunhoods as part of the design. It suits phone videographers who are building around that specific cage and want the option of adding shade to their setup. The 67mm designation gives the accessory a clear size to work around, while the removable hoods let you adapt the front of the rig to the scene. Keep them in place when you want the shading, or take them off when you prefer a more open setup. It’s a focused add-on rather than a general-purpose phone accessory, so its appeal is clearest if the 4299B is already part of your kit.
A considered addition to your phone rig
Think of this as a way to tailor the front of a 4299B cage to the conditions you’re filming in. The detachable design gives you a choice: use the sunhoods when you want shade around the front, then remove them when that isn’t useful. That flexibility is handy for moving between a bright outdoor location and a more controlled indoor setup. The product’s 67mm sizing is also a practical detail to keep in mind when planning how it fits into your rig. There’s one clear boundary: this is made for the 4299B Universal Phone Cage, so it’s a specific part of that system, not a universal add-on for every phone cage.
Specialist Note
For a phone-filming setup on a sunny patio, I’d start with the sunhoods attached, then take them off indoors if you want a more open front. That’s the useful point of having detachable hoods: you can change the setup without making the choice permanent. The 67mm designation is worth keeping in mind as you plan the rest of your rig, and this accessory is specifically intended for the 4299B Universal Phone Cage. I’d recommend it to someone already building around that cage who wants a shaded option for outdoor filming. It’s a targeted accessory, so it makes most sense as part of that particular setup.
