SmallRig 6381 Hawklock Quick Release Cage Kit For Canon EOS R6 V
SmallRig 6381 Hawklock Quick Release Cage Kit For Canon EOS R6 V | Quick-release support for tripod workflows
The defining point of the SmallRig 6381 is its Hawklock quick-release design: this is a cage kit for the Canon EOS R6 V, with a role as a tripod accessory. It suits EOS R6 V owners building a camera setup around tripod use, especially when they want a cage-based arrangement to be part of that workflow. The quick-release approach is useful to consider when planning how your camera is set up and repositioned, rather than treating the cage as an isolated accessory. It’s aimed at practical, camera-specific rig building for video work, interviews or carefully framed stills. The name tells you what the kit is for, but doesn’t tell us its dimensions, materials or included parts, so I’d keep expectations to its stated purpose: a Hawklock quick-release cage kit for the Canon EOS R6 V.
Specialist Note
New cage-kit owners can focus so much on the cage that they forget to plan how it fits into their tripod routine; the quick-release idea here makes that transition part of the setup. SmallRig calls this a Hawklock kit, so treat the release system as central to how you organise the camera, rather than assuming it’s just a static cage. For a tripod interview, build your EOS R6 V framing around the cage setup before recording; for tabletop video, plan any repositioning around the quick-release workflow. I’d keep this recommendation specific to the Canon EOS R6 V—the stated fit is for that camera, not a wider camera range.
