SmallRig 863 Black Mist Filter Kit For Insta360 Go Ultr
SmallRig 863 Black Mist Filter Kit For Insta360 GO Ultra | A softer, more atmospheric image
What sets this kit apart from a plain protective filter is its Black Mist look: it’s for shaping the image, not simply covering the camera lens. It’s aimed at Insta360 GO Ultra owners who want bright points of light to feel softer and less clinical in their clips. Try it for talking-to-camera videos, where gentle highlight bloom can make a face-lit scene feel less stark, or for evening street footage with illuminated signs. For the latter, include a bright sign in the frame and let the darker surroundings give the glow room to show. The effect is a creative choice rather than a neutral correction, so it suits people who already have a mood in mind. The product title identifies it as a kit, but doesn’t establish what individual pieces are included.
Specialist Note
First-time Black Mist users can expect a filter to protect the lens without changing the picture; this one is meant to give the image a more atmospheric character. Its stated fit for the Insta360 GO Ultra makes it a specific option for owners of that camera, rather than a general-purpose filter. I’d try it on a face-to-camera clip near a window, or frame a bright shop sign after dark to bring a softer feel to the highlights. Keep the light source in the composition to make that look part of the shot. The honest trade-off is that this is a creative effect, so it won’t suit footage where you want a strictly neutral rendering.
