Tether Tools TetherPro Optima 10G USB-C 31' (9.4m) Straight to Right, Black: Tether your camera to a computer

The Tether Tools TetherPro Optima 10G USB-C is a 9.4m tether cable with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface for transferring images from a camera to a computer. It’s for studio photographers and other shooters who work with a computer beside the camera and want a long cable run between them. One connector is straight; the other is angled, a useful detail when the cable needs to turn away from a camera connection rather than extend straight out. At 31 feet, it can span a studio setup where the computer isn’t right beside the camera. Connect your camera to a computer for tethered shooting, then review images on a laptop screen or an external monitor rather than relying only on the camera’s LCD. The USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface supports data transfer at up to 10 Gb/s, so image transfer is the job this cable is made to handle. Its black, braided construction has shielding and insulation, with soft-grip ends for handling the connectors. One important distinction: this is a data cable, not a charging cable. For a tethered workflow, that keeps the purpose clear—camera-to-computer image transfer over a long USB-C connection.

What it does

• Straight-to-right-angle USB-C: One end has a straight USB-C connector and the other has a right-angle USB-C connector. The angled end changes the direction the cable leaves the connection, which can be useful when a straight plug would project into the space around your camera.
• USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface: The interface supports transfer rates up to 10 Gb/s. That bandwidth is intended for moving image data during a tethered session, so you can work with your camera connected to a computer instead of treating the cable as a power lead.
• 9.4m cable length: The 31-foot reach gives you a longer link between camera and computer than a short desk cable. It’s suited to setups where the computer is placed farther from the camera, including a studio workstation arranged around a shooting area.
• Data transfer only: This cable is specified for transferring data and does not charge connected devices. Keep that distinction in mind when planning a tethered setup: its role is the camera-to-computer connection, not supplying power to the camera or another device.
• Braided exterior: The cable has a braided outer construction rather than a plain smooth finish. That gives the cable a distinct protective exterior for regular studio handling, particularly when it’s routed between the camera position and a computer across a longer span.
• Shielded and insulated: Shielding and insulation are part of the cable’s construction. They add protection around the data-carrying cable, a relevant detail for a tether lead that gets connected and handled as part of a working photography setup.
• Soft-grip connector ends: The connector tips have soft-grip sections. This detail gives you a more tactile place to hold when connecting or disconnecting the cable, while keeping the connector orientation easy to identify by its straight and angled ends.
