Thypoch Simera-C 35mm T1.5 FF Prime Cine Lens M-Mount | Fast manual control for full-frame filmmaking

Changing framing mid-scene can be awkward when a lens doesn’t give you the perspective you need. This 35mm prime gives filmmakers a standard view with a 63° angle of view on a full-frame sensor, making it a practical focal length for dialogue, documentary work and everyday scene coverage. Its maximum T1.5 aperture is helpful when light is limited and gives you room to work with a shallower depth of field. The lens uses a Leica M mount and manual focus, so it suits filmmakers who prefer to set focus themselves and plan their focus pulls. It’s an interchangeable cinema lens for video work, rather than an autofocus option for fast, hands-off shooting. If you’re building a deliberate, manual workflow around full-frame filmmaking, this 35mm gives you a straightforward way to frame people and places without reaching for an unusually wide or long view.

Specialist Note

For a low-lit dialogue setup, I’d start at T1.5 and set the frame around the speaker; that wide maximum aperture gives you more room when you can’t add much light. The 35mm focal length is a considered everyday view on full frame, so it works for an interview or a documentary scene where you want the person and some surroundings together. I’d keep focus moves deliberate: manual focus gives you direct control, but it also means someone needs to manage focus as the subject moves. This is a good fit for filmmakers who want that hands-on approach, not for a shoot that depends on autofocus tracking.
