Tilta MB-T17-LSF Left Side Flag For Mirage Pro Matte Box
Tilta MB-T17-LSF Left Side Flag For Mirage Pro Matte Box | Control light from the left
Keep unwanted light from the left from washing out contrast: the Tilta MB-T17-LSF is a left-side flag for the Mirage Pro Matte Box. It gives you a way to shade the lens from light arriving on that side, which can help when a bright source sits just outside the frame or strong ambient light is catching the front of your setup. The aim is a cleaner image with less distracting flare, without changing your lens or camera settings. This is a focused accessory, not a complete matte-box solution: its stated role is the left side, so it makes most sense when that’s where the light is causing trouble. For cinematographers and crews already using the Mirage Pro Matte Box, it’s a direct way to manage side light in a controlled interview setup or a scene with a bright source near the edge of the composition. Choose it for left-side control, rather than as a way to block light from every direction.
Specialist Note
The Tilta MB-T17-LSF is the left-side flag for managing unwanted light around the Mirage Pro Matte Box. Its left-side position matters when the troublesome source is coming from that direction; use it to shade the lens and help retain contrast. The Mirage Pro designation also makes this a specific match for that matte-box system, so I’d recommend it to someone building their setup around the Mirage Pro rather than looking for a general-purpose flag. It suits cinematographers refining an interview frame or keeping a bright practical just outside the composition from spilling across the lens. One limitation: it addresses the left side, so light coming from elsewhere needs another solution.
