Tilta TT-C07 12 Dovetail Plate
Tilta TT-C07 12 Dovetail Plate | Shoulder support for handheld video
The Tilta TT-C07 12 Dovetail Plate is a shoulder rig for handheld video work where the camera needs extra support. It suits videographers who want a supported way to work while filming by hand, rather than relying on a tripod for every shot. The intended use is straightforward: keep the camera work handheld while adding shoulder-rig support. That can be useful for interview coverage when you need to adjust your framing, or for event footage where you need to move with the action. A shoulder rig won’t make every handheld shot steady, and it doesn’t replace a tripod for a locked-off frame. It’s best considered for the parts of a video shoot where staying mobile matters, but holding the camera unsupported isn’t how you want to work. If that describes your filming, this Tilta is a focused option to consider.
Specialist Note
The Tilta TT-C07 12 Dovetail Plate is for adding shoulder-rig support to handheld video work. I’d look at it if you’re filming interviews and need to adjust your position between answers, or covering an event where you have to follow what’s happening rather than stay behind a tripod. For an interview, use the rig for the handheld portions and settle into a repeatable shoulder position before rolling; for moving coverage, keep your framing deliberate as you follow the action. Its role as a shoulder rig is the key point: it supports a handheld approach, rather than turning the setup into a fixed support. It still depends on your handling, so I wouldn’t choose it as a substitute for a tripod when you need a locked frame.
