TTArtisan 7.5mm f/2.0 - APS-C - Nikon Z-Mount - Silver
TTArtisan 7.5mm f/2.0 - APS-C - Nikon Z-Mount - Silver | Broad views for landscapes and architecture
The defining choice is the 7.5mm ultra-wide focal length: it takes in a broad sweep of a scene, which is useful when a landscape or building won’t fit comfortably into a tighter frame. This is a manual-focus prime for Nikon Z cameras with an APS-C sensor, suited to photographers who want direct control over focus and a very wide view. Its 124° angle of view gives you room to include foreground and surroundings in one composition, so it’s also well suited to architectural interiors and expansive night skies. The f/2 maximum aperture makes it a practical option for astro photography, where you may want to work with less light. The silver finish gives the lens a distinct look on your camera. If you mostly photograph moving subjects or prefer autofocus, manual focusing may slow you down.
Specialist Note
Framing comes together quickly with this 7.5mm lens: a small change in where you point it can bring a lot more foreground or sky into the picture. At f/2, you have a wider aperture to work with for night skies; start there, then adjust exposure to suit the scene. On a Nikon DX (APS-C) body, 7.5mm gives a full-frame-equivalent field of view of 11.25mm, which is especially useful in tight architectural spaces. I’d suggest taking time to focus manually before making the frame, particularly for buildings. The trade-off is that manual focus takes attention, so this is better suited to deliberate compositions than fast-moving subjects.
