Urth 49mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+
Urth 49mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+ | A softer, atmospheric look from the lens
Want a gentler look than a clean, crisp image, without creating the effect afterwards in editing? The Urth 49mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+ is a creative lens filter for photographers who want a soft, hazy quality in camera. Its White Mist effect is intended to soften the rendering of bright highlights and give images a more atmospheric feel, which can suit portraits, practical lights in a night scene, or a deliberately dreamy shot. It’s a considered choice when you want that look to be part of the photograph, rather than added later. The magnetic design makes the filter especially appealing if you often switch between a clear lens and a filtered look. This is an effect filter, not a neutral option for keeping every detail looking crisp: the softness is the point, so it won’t suit every subject or style. The 49mm size is the key fit detail to match to your lens.
Specialist Note
“Will this make my pictures look soft?” Yes, that’s the character of the Ethereal White Mist: it’s for adding a gentler, more atmospheric rendering, not for keeping everything pin-sharp in appearance. The 49mm size matters because it has to match the filter size of your lens; once it does, the magnetic attachment is handy when you want to move between filtered and unfiltered images without treating the filter as a permanent choice. I’d use its look for a close portrait with a bright background, or for a night scene with visible lamps, keeping the subject framed so the softened highlights support the mood. If you want a clean, neutral result, this effect may be too noticeable.
