Urth 72 77mm Step Up Ring Lens Filter Adapter
Urth 72 77mm Step Up Ring Lens Filter Adapter | Share filters between lenses
Use a 77mm filter on a lens with a 72mm filter thread, so you can keep using a filter you already own. The Urth step-up ring connects those two sizes, making it a straightforward option for photographers who want to share filters across lenses with different front threads. It’s especially handy if you have a larger filter already in your kit and don’t want to buy another in a smaller size just for one lens. Attach the ring between the lens and filter, then use the filter as you normally would. That could mean using a polarizer to manage reflections or a neutral-density filter to control light in a bright scene. The key is matching the ring to the lens and filter sizes stated here; it adapts in one direction, from the smaller thread to the larger filter.
Specialist Note
The ring bridges a 72mm lens thread to a 77mm filter, which can save you carrying a second version of a filter you already use. I’d consider it if your filter kit is built around the larger size and you’ve added a lens with the smaller thread. For a landscape, fit your 77mm polarizer through the ring when you want to manage reflections; for a bright scene, use the same arrangement with a neutral-density filter to cut the light reaching the lens. One point to keep in mind: this is a step-up ring, so it adapts a smaller lens thread to a larger filter, not the other way around. It’s a simple, specific fix for that size mismatch.
