Western Digital My Passport 2TB USB-C Blue Portable

Western Digital My Passport 2TB USB-C Blue Portable | Keep your files close

When your computer’s built-in storage is getting crowded, a separate drive gives you somewhere to keep files you don’t need on hand every day. The Western Digital My Passport is a portable external HDD with 2TB capacity, a USB-C connection and a blue finish. It suits people who want a straightforward place for a photo collection, video files or documents, and who may want to take that storage with them. Its appeal is practical rather than complicated: one named capacity, a familiar external-drive format and a portable design. The 2TB figure gives you a useful basis for deciding how much of your archive you want to keep together. If you’re choosing a drive for a particular computer, the detail to match against your setup is the USB-C connection. For keeping a personal collection organised or making room on your main device, this is the kind of storage you can build into an everyday routine.

A straightforward place for an archive

An external drive can make it easier to separate files you want to keep from the files you’re actively working on. For example, you might set aside a folder for finished projects, personal photographs or documents you want to retain, then keep your current work elsewhere. A simple folder structure helps you find things later; naming folders by project or date is often enough to get started. The drive’s portable format also suits a routine where your files need to travel with you, rather than stay in one place. It’s worth deciding what you want this drive to hold before you begin copying files, so your archive has a clear purpose. Keep a second copy of anything you can’t afford to lose; one drive on its own shouldn’t be your only copy of important files.
