7Artisans Infinte 16mm T2.5 FullFrame DE-Clicked PL Mount | Wide views for cinematic framing

For cinematic establishing shots that take in a broad stretch of a location, the 7Artisans Infinte 16mm T2.5 FullFrame DE-Clicked PL Mount is an ultra-wide prime designed for video and filmmaking. Its 16mm focal length gives a 107° angle of view on full-frame coverage, making it easier to hold a room, a street scene or a close foreground with plenty of space around it. The T2.5 maximum aperture gives you room to work when available light is limited, while the de-clicked aperture design suits adjustments made during a take. With a PL mount and manual focus, it’s made for a deliberate cinema workflow where the operator sets focus. It suits filmmakers building wide compositions on PL-mount setups, especially when a scene needs a strong sense of place. At this angle, camera position matters: nearby objects can feel much larger than the background, so small framing changes make a visible difference.

Specialist Note

The de-clicked aperture is a useful physical detail: you can adjust the T-stop without click steps, helping a brightness change stay smooth during a take. I’d point this lens towards filmmakers who want a wide view without giving up full-frame coverage. For a room establishing shot, keep the camera level to help keep vertical lines upright; for a more immersive foreground, move close to the subject and let the 107° view carry the space behind it. T2.5 gives you some flexibility when the available light is low. One thing to keep in mind: at 16mm, close objects can dominate the frame, so careful camera placement is part of getting the look you want.
