8Sinn 15mm Baseplate V2 + Riser Plate I + 5 ARRI Dovetail Plate
8Sinn 15mm Baseplate V2 + Riser Plate I + 5 ARRI Dovetail Plate | A considered tripod build
Without a dedicated combination in mind, putting together a tripod setup can mean choosing each part separately. This 8Sinn tripod accessory brings a 15mm Baseplate V2, Riser Plate I and 5 ARRI Dovetail Plate together in one named product. It’s aimed at filmmakers and camera operators planning a rig around these particular components, rather than shoppers looking for a general-purpose tripod extra. The appeal is having the named parts to consider as one setup, so you can plan your camera build and tripod arrangement with them in view from the outset. That makes it worth considering for a studio rig or a tripod-mounted production setup where the configuration matters. It’s a specialist option, though: the title identifies a specific combination, not a universal solution for every camera or tripod. If those names match the way you’re planning your rig, this is a focused place to start.
Specialist Note
For a studio tripod build, I’d start my layout around the 15mm Baseplate V2 and decide where the camera needs to sit before settling the rest of the rig. The 15mm designation gives you a clear format to plan around; the Riser Plate I is the part to consider when thinking through the camera’s vertical position. For a locked-off interview, map the framing and camera height first, then see how this combination fits that plan. The 5 ARRI Dovetail Plate gives the setup a specific plate element to account for, rather than leaving that part of the rig undefined. I’d recommend it to someone building deliberately around these named components. It’s a focused combination, so it won’t suit every tripod workflow.
