ACT 15m DisplayPort 1.4 Active Optical Cable 8K w/ Connector

ACT 15m DisplayPort 1.4 Active Optical Cable 8K w/ Connector | Long-reach 8K DisplayPort connection

When a screen needs to sit away from its source, a short cable can dictate where the equipment goes. This ACT cable gives you a 15-metre connection, with DisplayPort 1.4, active optical construction and 8K stated in its name. It’s aimed at setups where a long DisplayPort cable run is the main requirement, rather than a compact connection between nearby devices. The title also specifies a connector, so this is a cable supplied with a connector. For a specialist shop, the useful point is the combination of a defined length and a named DisplayPort standard: you can assess those against the layout you’re planning. One honest caveat: the title alone doesn’t establish the precise device combinations it suits, so we wouldn’t claim compatibility with a particular screen or source. If the distance and stated format match your needs, this is a straightforward cable to consider.

Planning the cable run

Before placing equipment, measure the route the cable will actually take, rather than estimating the gap between the two devices. Allow for the path around furniture or along a wall, and check that the connection points can be reached without pulling the cable tight. This is especially useful when the source and screen are in different parts of a room: deciding the route first can save you from rearranging the setup later. Keep the cable path in mind while choosing where each device will sit, and make sure the connector can be reached at both ends. Those are simple planning steps, but they matter more on a longer run than they do when the devices are side by side.
